Evan Lamprecht Named to MBJ’s 2025 40 Under 40

Altus Partner Evan Lamprecht has been recognized as a 2025 Midlands Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree, highlighting a leadership style built on collaboration, community involvement, and healthcare design that supports the people delivering care.

Evan Lamprecht, AIA, NCARB, Project Executive and Partner at Altus Architectural Studios, has been named a 2025 Midlands Business Journal (MBJ) 40 Under 40 honoree.

MBJ’s 40 Under 40 recognizes professionals under age 40 who are shaping their organizations and communities through leadership, impact, and momentum. For us, this recognition matters because it aligns with how Evan leads every day: steady, team-first, and focused on outcomes that hold up in real healthcare environments.

Why this matters in healthcare design

Healthcare architecture is not about design for design’s sake. It is about creating environments that help clinicians do their best work, support patients and families through vulnerable moments, and adapt as care models change.

That kind of work requires:

  • Listening before drawing
  • Testing ideas early with end users
  • Translating complex requirements into spaces that function smoothly now and years from now

It is also why Altus stays intentionally focused: 100 percent healthcare. After 25 years and 2,000+ healthcare projects, we have learned that the best results come from clear process, real collaboration, and a commitment to learning.

Evan’s leadership style: collaborative, innovative, and practical

Evan describes himself in three words: collaborative, innovative, troubleshooter. That reads like a jobsite description because it is one.

With more than a decade in healthcare design, Evan’s work centers on user-centered planning and design, improving workflow and the day-to-day experience for the people who use the building most: staff, patients, and families.

He has supported a wide range of owner teams, including organizations such as:

  • CHI Health
  • Nebraska Medicine
  • Children’s Nebraska
  • UNMC
  • MercyOne
  • Methodist Health System
  • UCHealth
  • and others across the Midwest and beyond
“Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge.”

Quote Evan shared in his MBJ 40 Under 40 Q and A, attributed to Simon Sinek.

That mindset shows up in the details: steady communication, clear expectations, and a bias toward solutions that work in the field, not just on paper.

Before architecture, Evan attended Midland Lutheran College and played basketball, an experience he credits with shaping how he approaches teamwork, discipline, and leadership. His first job was as a residential framer, where he learned the fundamentals of construction and hands-on problem-solving. That experience still informs how he thinks about constraints, coordination, and buildability.

Community involvement that’s consistent, not performative

The MBJ 40 Under 40 program often emphasizes community involvement, and Evan’s story reflects that in a grounded way.

He has supported health and mentorship initiatives, including involvement with the Omaha American Heart Association Hard Hats with Heart campaign. He also volunteers as a YMCA youth basketball coach and mentors young professionals.

For Evan, leadership is not a headline. It is a practice.

How Altus works (and why Evan fits it)

Altus is built around a simple belief: insight and data matter more than titles and egos. We bring structure to complex projects through a repeatable process: Discover, Define, Design, Deliver. We use tools like LEAN principles, technology-driven optimization, and 5D BIM to reduce surprises and make decisions clearer.

That is the environment where Evan’s leadership style thrives: smart teams, clear process, and work that improves care.

Congratulations, Evan 🎉

We are proud of Evan, and grateful to the clients and collaborators who trust our teams to shape environments where care happens.

If you are planning a new healthcare facility, renovating an active space, or preparing for growth, we would love to talk about goals, constraints, and how design can better support your teams and the people you serve.
